There is a number of LaTeX styles for typesetting trees, in particular
parse trees (see your nearest CTAN archive).

For direct tree (or graph) drawing, with nice layout facilities, I
have been told recently of GRAPHLET :

    http://www.uni-passau.de/~himsolt/Graphlet/

which is available for linux, solaris and windows.
