Relative clauses

I've been wondering whether we should recognize different structures
for different types of relatives. In RCs which include a resumptive
pronoun, it seems reasonable to assume that there is an anaphoric
relationship between the head noun (the TOPIC) and the resumptive
pronoun, whereas in RCs which employ the "gapping" strategy it might
be a case of feature sharing, with the head noun functioning
simultaneously as the TOPIC and some other GR of the modifying
clause. What do you all think?
