What does the Linguist List do for LFG?

Hi All,

Did you know that the linguist list is the home of the LFG listserv? Did
you know that the linguistlist houses the archives of the LFG listserv?
Did you know that the linguist list receives a major portion of its
funding through donations? Did you know know that if the Linguist list
doesn't meet it's funding totals, it might well have to close up shop,
fire its graduate student workers and stop supporting its many activities
like archiving and providing support to listserves like this one? All of
these are true statements.

I'd like to encourage all LFG-listserv participants to consider donating
to the the Linguist List, even if you don't subscribe to the LL itself. By
making a donation you are supporting *this* listserv. Small and large
donations are are equally welcome. Right now, the advisors to the LL have
a donation matching challenge up, so nows your chance to almost double
your money.

(BTW. one of the homes of LFG (Stanford) is waaaay ahead of everyone else
in the grad school challenge. Be we at Arizona, who are in second place,
and won last year are determined to catch up!)

Best,

Andrew
