Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in
Syntax in the Department of Linguistics, tenable on or before December 1,
2005, for a period of 2 years.<br>
<br>
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Syntax or a related area,
particularly within the Lexical-Functional Grammar framework. A proven
record of research and international refereed publications is
essential. Knowledge of Cantonese/Chinese or other southeast Asian
languages like Zhuang and Thai will be an advantage. The appointee is
expected to initiate, develop and coordinate research projects related to
Syntax within the Linguistic Theory and Technology research group;
contribute to teaching in Syntax; and prepare reports for publications in
international refereed journals. The appointee will work on Linguistic
Theory and Technology projects in the Department of Linguistics under the
