Colleagues,

Please see the attached (trilingual versions) of the Call to UNESCO and UN
Member Nations for an International Convention on Linguistic Diversity.
This Call grew out of the Language Rights and Language Law Conference held
in Galway this past summer. The idea is that this Call, and the Conference,
will take the "next steps" in advancing the global cause of linguistic
diversity and minority/Indigenous language rights.

Joseph-G. Turi, Secretary-General of the International Academy of Linguistic
Law, was co-chair of the Galway Conference and this ensuing effort. I am
sure he would value any insights or questions you might have about this. He
can be reached at <academy.inter at sympatico.ca>.

Best,

Terri McCarty
