Earlier today Ratu Epeli Ganilau launched a new centre for indigenous
studies at the University of Fiji's Lautoka campus.

He said the centre would enhance the students' learning skills and help
build a multi-racial Fiji. Ratu Epeli added discussions have begun on a
government language policy. "I want to mention that preliminary discussions
have already begun within Government or if Cabinet before August 17 had
approved the Language Policy Papers. "You should have no doubt learned from
the media that Cabinet had a few days ago approved the adoption of a
national Language policy for multiracial living in Fiji," said he.
