The Department of Business Language and Information Science at the
University of Southern Denmark in Kolding invites applications for a 3 year
fully funded position as a Ph.D. student in the field of business
communication (English).  The position will be filled per February 1st 2008
or immediately thereafter.  The successful applicant will propose a project
involving spoken interaction and is expected to be familiar with
micro-analytic approaches to interaction such as Conversation Analysis.  The
Ph.D. project will be part of a larger project at the department to
establish corpora of interactional data.

The Ph.D. curriculum is a student-centered program consisting of course
work, seminars, conference participation, and workshops.  A condition of the
grant is that the student spends a longer period of time at a research
institution outside Denmark. The student is also expected to participate in
the activities of the Department and to be present on campus regularly.

The appointment as Ph.D. student will terminate automatically after a period
of three years. The successful applicant may not accept other paid work
during the this period. The appointment will be in accordance with agreement
between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional
Associations, AC.

description should include a research plan, a description of the goals of
the project, discussion of relevant theory and method, and a time schedule
for the 3 years.

marked ³position No. 076604² and submitted in 3 copies to the Humanistisk
Fakultetssekretariat, Engstien 1, DK 6000 Kolding.  Deadline for the
application is January 7, 2008, at 12.00 hours.
