Workshop to share ideas

THE School of Language Studies and Linguistics at Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia is organising an international conference entitled Language And
Nationhood: Discourses Across Cultures And Disciplines (SoLLs.INTEC.07) at
Sheraton Subang Hotel and Towers, Subang Jaya, Selangor, from May 15 to
17.

The conference will be opened on May 15 by Raja Zarith Sofia Sultan Idris
Shah, the consort of Tengku Mahkota Johor Tengku Ibrahim Ismail Sultan
Iskandar, who will also present a keynote address. The conference focuses
on issues of language and nationhood and aims to bring together
international and local academics, researchers and experts to exchange and
share ideas and ideologies, knowledge and disciplines, cultures and
practices, policies and positions, and plans and visions. It will also be
an avenue for discourse across various cultures on different areas of
study in language, linguistics, education, technology, culture,
professional communication, planning and policy.

The organisers invite papers, workshops, and poster presentations that
relate to language and nationhood  socio linguistics, applied linguistics,
critical discourse analysis, stylistics, semiotics, gender studies,
literary education, media studies, anthropology, psychology, pedagogy, and
technological innovations in language learning. Interested participants
are invited to submit their papers and register with the conference
secretariat.
