Kazakh PM held session on state language development

ASTANA. March 19. KAZINFORM Sitting of the Commission for further
development of the national language policy under the Kazakh Government
chaired by Prime Minister Karim Massimov took place in Astana city today;
Kazinform refers to the Governments press service. Kazakh ministers of
education and science, agriculture, culture and information and deputy
akim (mayor) of Almaty city made their reports at the meeting.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev, the Education Minister, proposed to open 16 national
centers to study the state language.  Minister of Agriculture noted that
by the end of 2008 all the regional territorial departments of the
ministry would turn to the documentation in the Kazakh language.  Summing
up the results of the session Mr. Massimov offered to discuss an issue of
the use of funds assigned for the state language development in 2007-2008
at the following sitting of the Commission.

Besides, he charged the Commissions members to consider an issue of the
national centers development within the framework of the administrative
reform.
