JOB DESCRIPTION:

WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, ST.LOUIS, ANTHROPOLOGY DEPARTMENT
invites application for a tenure-track appointment in Linguistic
Anthropology at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in fall 2009.
  The area of expertise within the field is open, but we expect the
successful candidate to teach in the broad area of language and
culture, and to work with graduate students in developing research
projects that incorporate the ethnographic study of speech. An
established program of research is essential, as is a strong commitment
to undergraduate and graduate teaching.

  Applications should consist of a curriculum vitae and a cover letter
describing current research and teaching interests. Applicant should
ask three referees to send letters of recommendation. All materials
from candidates and referees should be sent as MSWord files or PDFs via
email with "Linguistic Anthropology Search" in subject line to:
coguin at artsci.wustl.edu.

  Priority will be given to applications received on or before November
1, but the search will continue until the position is filled.
