New project aims to develop young children's language learning skills

The campaign "Cymraeg-kids soak it up", which is organised by the
Welsh Language Board, was launched last week and promotes the fact
that children find it easier learning a language at a younger age. The
marketing project, now in its third year, is aimed at new parents and
parents to be and will promote the benefits of bilingualism and the
advantages of learning to speak Welsh as a young child.

Wrexham is one of 13 areas which are taking part in the project this
year. The project is financed by the Welsh Language Board, but is
organised by the local Mentrau Iaith group. Menter Iaith Maelor has
organised a number of exciting events during February and March to
raise awareness about the project.
