The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine states that the tonality of the latestdeclaration of the Russian party about the history of Ukraine, itslanguage policy and the situation over implementation of ethnicminorities` rights may cause damage to the dynamic development ofbilateral relations.

According to the information of the Ministry, AmbassadorPlenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the Russian Federation to UkraineVladimir Chernomyrdin was summoned to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministrytoday to meet with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko.

The sides discussed pressing issues of the Ukrainian-Russian relationsand schedules of the bilateral contacts in the nearest future.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister turned the attention of the RussianFederation Ambassador to the fact that "tonality of the latestdeclaration of the Russian party about the history of Ukraine, itslanguage policy and the situation over implementation of ethnicminorities` rights may cause damage to the dynamic development ofbilateral relations".

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Constitutional Court decided that,starting on December 24, 2007, all foreign films must be dubbed orsounded only in the Ukrainian language.
The State Service of Cinematography from now on has no right to issuepermits to demonstration of a film if it is not dubbed, sounded orsubtitled in Ukrainian language.

The press and information department of the Russian foreign ministrycriticized this decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
