Dissertation Abstract:

The dissertation studies the Chamorro vocabulary of Spanish origin. One by
one, 5000 words with their etymologies and sources (dictionaries and other
books, and interviews to 30 native speakers on Guam, Rota, Saipan and Tinian).

It also includes a study of some aspects of the Chamorro language
orthography, phonology and grammar; the situation of the Chamorro language;
and a brief history of the Marianas.
