Meeting Description:

This conference aims to examine public policies in the maintenance of group
identity through language and culture, attitude of the minority in maintaining
their own identity in the context of their adopted country, attitude of the
majority in accommodating the minorioty's cultural traits as part of the
overall identity and factors for and against assimilation or integration of
minority language and culture into the general policy. The term 'culture'
is to be taken in the broadest sense, embracing both material and
non-material culture.

Call for Papers

Papers will be 20 minutes in duration with an additional 10 minutes for
discussion. Abstracts (a maximum of 300 words in either English or Malay)
have to reach the Secretariat by 30 June 2010

Submission of abstracts - 30th June 2010
Acceptance notification - 15th July 2010
Submission of full paper - 31 August 2010
