Punjab to deal sternly with educational institutes not teaching Punjabi language



The Punjab Government has issued strict warning to erring educational
institutes liable for deliberately violating the proper implementation
of Punjabi language Act that makes mandatory to teach Punjabi as a
subject.

Dr. Upinderjit Kaur, Education and Languages Minister Punjab revealed
that the reports of various DEOs and DLOs were shocking to know that
some privately managed schools including few Central, Army and Navodya
Vidiayalas were not implementing the Punjabi language as a compulsory
subject from class 1st to class 10th under the Punjab, Punjabi and
Learning of other Languages Act, 2008.
