Understanding how the Government Language Policy will fare
Friday , 07 October 2011

The Ministry of National Languages and Social Integration has decided
to conduct a research to
look into the implementation of the Government language policy in
Government institutions in the
Western province. Minister Vasudewa Nanayakkara stated that a sample
segment covering police
stations, hospitals and divisional secretariats in the Colombo,
Gampaha and Kaluthara districts
have been chosen in this regard.

Steps have been taken to allocate seventy five research teams to carry
out this exercise. This
would be implemented in other parts of the island upon its completion
in the western province.
