Meeting Description:

Building upon last year's public conference on Linguistic Diversity in American
Classrooms organized partly in response to language-based discrimination in
Arizona, during this year's conference scholars, students, educators,
practitioners, and community members will discuss language-based research,
professional perspectives, and personal experiences on migration as seen
through the lens of language. The ultimate goal of the UCLA Department of
Applied Linguistics is to promote civic engagement within our communities,
incorporating diverse perspectives into well-informed and meaningful dialogue.
