P Vasanth Kumar, TNN Aug 9, 2012, 10.27PM IST

BANGALORE: The Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the Karnataka
Government wherein it had defended its controversial 1994 language
policy will come up for final hearing on September 18 before the
Supreme court.

"The Supreme court bench comprising Justices P Sathasivam and Ranjan
Gogoi indicated that it will take up the matter on a day to day basis
and dispose off the same at the earliest" K V Dhananjay, counsel for
Karnataka Unaided Schools Managements Association (KUSMA) told Times
of India. The SLP was filed by the State Government immediately after
the July 2,2008 verdict of a three judge full bench of the Karnataka
high court headed by the then Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph.
