*Call for Papers – The Politics of Language, RC 50*

*IPSA-AISP 2014 World Congress, Montreal, Canada*



The Research Committee on the Politics of Language (RC 50) (
http://rc50.ipsa.org/) invites paper proposals for the International
Political Science Association’s 23rd World Congress (Montreal, Canada, July
19-24, 2014) on the following themes:

·         Normative perspectives on language policy and planning

·         National minorities, language and migration

·         Language and the economy

·         Political institutions and language

·         Politics of linguistic standardization

·         Language, nationalism and democracy

·         Linguistic regionalism and federalism

·         Governing languages in comparative perspective



Interested parties should send a 250-word abstract to Selma K. Sonntag (
Selma.Sonntag at humboldt.edu) and Helaina Gaspard (helaina.gaspard at uottawa.ca)
by September 12, 2013.



Authors of accepted paper proposals will receive an email invitation in
early October, 2013.  Upon receipt of this invitation, each presenter will
be responsible for uploading his or her proposal through the IPSA website.

communication dans le cadre du 23e Congrès mondial de l’Association
internationale de science politique (Montréal, Canada, du 19 au 24 juillet
2014) en lien avec l’un des thèmes suivants :

·         Perspectives normatives sur les politiques et l’aménagement
linguistiques

·         Nations minoritaires, langue et migration

·         Langue et économie

·         Institutions politiques et langue

·         Politiques de la standardisation linguistique

·         Langue, nationalisme et démocratie

·         Langues régionales et fédéralisme

·         Gouvernance linguistique en perspective comparée



Prière de faire parvenir votre proposition de communication (max. 250 mots)
à Selma K. Sonntag (Selma.Sonntag at humboldt.edu) et à Helaina Gaspard (
helaina.gaspard at uottawa.ca) au plus tard le 12 septembre 2013.



Les auteurs et auteures des propositions retenues seront informés au début
octobre 2013. Les propositions acceptées devront être soumises par l’auteur
ou l’auteure sur le site internet de l’AISP.
