[lg policy] UK: Mansfield deaf comedian praises Lib Dems for new BSL policy but more needs to be done

Thoroughly agree that it is high time that consciousness was raised about 
BSL.

The wording of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 may be helpful here:

'speech, hearing, or eyesight' are specifically listed among the criteria, 
so legislation-wise Deaf people are already covered. The experience with 
the bank that is described in the article sounds at least potentially 
actionable, and at the very least I'd have thought the bank should 
apologise and offer some compensation and better service in the future.
