Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye, Scotland

*Confirmed Plenary Speakers:*

Building on the success of the first Soillse conference in 2011, and in
conjunction with CAER, the Education Society of the European Regions,
this two-day conference will provide a forum for minority language
researchers, practitioners, policy makers and activists to address a range
of key issues related to minority language education and revitalisation.
The aim of the conference is to stimulate fresh perspectives and identify
new areas for collaboration. The conference will consist primarily of
workshops centred on the following key themes:

Language socialisation and the community

The media in the language revitalisation debate

Dynamic pedagogy and methodologies in minority language education

Adult learners and community language learning

Professional engagement with the speaker community

Education and reversing language shift

We warmly welcome papers related to any of these key themes for inclusion
in paper sessions designed to complement the workshop discussions.
Abstracts should be sent by April 10, 2015 and should be no more than 250
words, including references. Prospective presenters will be informed of
the outcome of their abstract no later than April 17, 2015. Presentations
will be 20 minutes and may be delivered either in English or Scottish
Gaelic. Please send abstracts by e-mail to Nicola.Carty at glasgow.ac.uk
