The Humanities research group The English Language in University Settings / La lengua inglesa en el �mbito universitario (HUM-397) at the University of Seville is pleased to announce the 12th ELIA Conference to be held in Seville, Spain, on July 1-3, 2015. 

Theme:

The theme for the 2015 conference will be Issues in Intercultural Learning and Teaching across L2 Contexts and Situations (i.e., interculturality in foreign / second language education�from preschool to university settings).

The keynote speakers at the 12th ELIA Conference will be Dr. Prue Holmes (Durham University, UK) and Dr. M. Carmen M�ndez Garc�a (University of Jaen, Spain). 

Call for Papers:

Extended call deadline: February 27, 2015

Abstracts / Proposals:

Due to the symposium-like structure of the conference, proposals should be related to the above theme to be accepted. Proposals for individual and group papers and workshops that address any dimension of the theme are invited in English or Spanish. Proposals must include (i) 5 keywords, (ii) a 300-400 word abstract, and (iii) 4-5 references. The deadline for submission of abstracts is February 27, 2015.

Important Dates:

Abstract submission (extended): November 15, 2014 - February 27, 2015
Deadline for registration: June 10, 2015
Conference: July 1-3, 2015

Publication:

A selection of the papers presented at the ELIA conference will be published in the forthcoming issue (2015) of the ELIA Journal (Studies in Applied English Linguistics). Selected original contributions addressing the conference theme may also be published in an edited volume that is currently under consideration.
