The University’s Welsh Language Policy and Promotion Officers are Nia
Besley and Emily Hammett. Sharing a job, (both work part-time), they work
to promote opportunities to use Welsh on campus and beyond, and provide
advice and strategies for complying with the University’s Welsh language
scheme. One of their latest projects is to create and implement a bilingual
skills strategy. They will also assist the University’s departments and
colleges to comply with the Welsh Language Standards when they are
published later this year. More information about the Standards can be
found on the Welsh Language Commissioner’s
<http://www.comisiynyddygymraeg.cymru/english/Pages/Home.aspx%20> website.
