Stellenbosch University will implement a new language policy from January
2017.

CAPE TOWN - Stellenbosch University is planning to revise the language
policy so that students from non-Afrikaans backgrounds can be accommodated.

But some have expressed concern that this will see the demise of Afrikaans,
even though the university council has said that they don't plan on scaling
back on their Afrikaans offerings.

Stellenbosch University rector,Professor Wim de Villiers, says, “I would
like to sum it up in two words, and that is 'inclusive multilingualism'.”

about what this means for students.
