Ministry for Education and Employment has marked the European Day of
Languages 2016, by launching the first ever Language Policy for the Early
Years in Malta and Gozo through its Language Policy in Education Committee.

The language policy document
<http://www.gov.mt/en/Government/Press%20Releases/Documents/pr162082en.pdf>
was prepared by a group of practitioners and experts and following wide
consultation with parents, teachers and the general public. Language policy
documents for the other years are to follow.

The Minister for Education and Employment, Evarist Bartolo called for
increased language learning opportunities in our schools and beyond as the
knowledge of languages opens windows of career opportunities and increases
levels of understanding, tolerance and communication.
