Come one, come all, to my first foray into one of them really proper grown up
scholarly expositions that real academics go round giving!

It's the annual LHR lecture series at the University of Essex, where I'll be stepping
into some ridiculously big shoes:
http://privatewww.essex.ac.uk/~patrickp/lhr/lhrlectures.htm (scroll down the page for
the much more impressive speakers of previous years). Either I'm going up in the
world, or this lecture series is going down!

It's on Thursday 18th May at 4pm, in room 1N1.4.1. Here's an interactive campus map
showing the room: https://goo.gl/i4drOk. You can zoom in and move around to get your
bearings.

If you're travelling from anywhere on the London train line, the best option will be
to get the train that arrives into Colchester station at 14:46, then get the number
62 bus (towards Wivenhoe) from the station at 15:16, and get off at Valley Road (in
the university campus). Here's a link to the bus route:
https://goo.gl/maps/7ZAhX82dDXJ2. If you zoom in on that map, I've set final
destination as the actual room of the talk.

After the talk there will be a wine reception, where you have the opportunity to hear
me talking even less coherently.

If you'd like to come along, please make sure to email the convenor of the series,
Professor Peter Patrick: patrickp at essex.ac.uk. Everyone is welcome. Really, everyone.

And if you can't make it, the least you could do is email me with some encouragement.

I hope to see you all there!

Dave
