<P>I have a French speaking doctoral student who is interested in studying receptive bilingualism in children. We all can think of anecdotal examples of children who understand L2 but refuse or are unable to speak it and reply to bilingual family members in L1.</P>

<P>Any help you can offer in tracking down research on this topic will be appreciated.</P>
