<p>WINNIPEG -- Manitoba soccer players have a new foul to worry about. </p>
<p>Players caught swearing a blue streak or even cursing under their breath will net themselves a red card as referees begin enforcing an existing policy on bad language. </p>
<p>Starting yesterday, that policy became a zero-tolerance rule. </p>
<p>There will be no warnings -- any player or coach caught swearing will be ejected from games sanctioned by the Manitoba Soccer Association. </p>
<p>Referees will not be allowed to use their discretion, said association director Hector Vergara. </p>
<p>"In other words, a referee's not going to have the flexibility to say that's OK today, but it's not OK for tomorrow. It's simply not OK," said Vergara. </p>
<p>"It's going to be strictly applied to the letter of the law." </p>
<p>The crackdown is aimed at improving the sport's image and making games more family-friendly after complaints from parents were received. </p><br></td></tr></tbody></table><span></span><span></span><img height="1" alt="" src="http://cnocalgarysuncomprod.112.2o7.net/b/ss/cnocalgarysuncomprod,cnocanoeglobalprod/1/H.9-pdvu-2/s66520926353012?[AQB]&ndh=1&t=4/7/2007%207%3A36%3A52%206%20360&g=http%3A//calsun.canoe.ca/News/National/2007/08/02/pf-4387211.html&r=http%3A//calsun.canoe.ca/News/National/2007/08/02/4387211-sun.html&cc=USD&ch=News%20SUN&server=calgarysun.canoe.ca&events=event1&v3=News%20SUN&c8=8%3A30AM&c9=Saturday&c10=Weekend&c21=First%20page%20view%20or%20cookies%20not%20supported&c22=calsun.canoe.ca&pid=http%3A//calsun.canoe.ca/News/National/2007/08/02/4387211-sun.html&oid=http%3A//calsun.canoe.ca/News/National/2007/08/02/pf-4387211.html&ot=A&oi=360&s=1024x768&c=32&j=1.3&v=Y&k=Y&bw=1016&bh=588&ct=lan&hp=N&[AQE]" width="1" border="0" name="s_i_cnocalgarysuncomprod">
