<p class=MsoNormal>The Xth Conference of Ibero-American Ministers of Culture
(Valparaiso, Chile, 26 - 27 July 2007)<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>The Ministers of Culture of Spain and various Latin American
countries met to establish common goals and agreements on intercultural
dialogue; culture as a<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>factor of social cohesion and socially inclusive policies;
artistic education; culture and citizenship and Ibero-America's Action Plan for
Culture. They also examined the follow-up of programs and initiatives adopted
at previous summits: Ibermedia and Iberescena Funds, 2008 as the Ibero-American
year for museums, and the creation of the Ibero-American Institute for Native
Languages. In the Valparaiso Declaration, to be submitted to the coming
Ibero-American Summit of the Heads of State, the Ministers outlined the shared
cultural policy principles and priorities related to the agenda items mentioned
above. They also decided to undertake coordinated actions with a view to
celebrate the 200th anniversary of the access to independence of the
Latino-American countries.<o:p></o:p></p>
