<br>Toronto, invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment<br>in the field of Second Language Education. The appointment<br>will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin July<br>1, 2008. We seek candidates with expertise in the field of
<br>second language education with a particular focus on teaching<br>French and international languages.<br><br>The successful candidate will be expected to develop an<br>externally funded research program, within the Modern Language
<br>Centre, and undertake graduate supervision and teaching both<br>at the graduate and initial teacher education levels.<br><br>The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in<br>education or in a relevant discipline. The candidate must have
<br>extensive educational experience related to language teaching<br>(e.g., in core, immersion, heritage, or other bilingual<br>education programs), a distinctive research and publications<br>record, and an ongoing program of research in areas such as
<br>classroom pedagogy, curriculum development, teacher<br>development, multiliteracies, and/or communication<br>technologies. High levels of proficiency in English, French,<br>and another international language are required. Salary will
