In the continuing development of language materials, the Language & Culture program has involved youth in the revitalization of the Tamayame language. </span></span></div>

<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: left"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><span style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia,'palatino'">Twenty-seven middle school and high school students are currently attending the Tamayame Language & Culture class at Bernalillo Middle and High School. With free software programs and new technology skills they learned at ILI’s Digital Storytelling workshop, the Pueblo of Santa Ana students are producing digital stories on topics such as Past/Present Rez life, The Journey of a Tamayame Boy, The Tamayame before Tamaya, Life after Boarding Schools, Struggles of Native American Kids, Agriculture in Tamayame, and Tamayame Culture. The students are incorporating the Tamayame Keres language by writing a script in English then with the help of Elder language consultants, the English is then translated into Keres. </span></span></div>

<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: left"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"><span style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia,'palatino'">The Tamayame Language & Culture staff will host a Digital Storytelling Film Festival for the students’ parents and community members of the Pueblo of Santa Ana. The students will submit the digital stories to the National Geographic All Roads Film Project in March 2010. The finished digital stories will also be added to the Tamayame Language & Culture Programs library so that it can be handed down to future generations.</span></span></div>

The projects brought self-pride and motivated them to learn their language and culture. The students’ attendance at school has improved and they are having fun learning the language. This opportunity has allowed the elders to work with the younger generation. I believe the elders feel good about their contributions to teaching the language.”</span></span></span></div>
