The fluency of teaching staff, particularly in Russian-language schools, has become a prominent issue in recent months. Starting from September 2011, Russian upper secondary schools will be required to teach at least 60 percent of classes in Estonian according to the law.<br>

With research on everything from teaching English language learners to evaluating teacher effectiveness, the fruits of Durham Public Schools' partnership with Duke's Center for Child and Family Policy were on display Monday.<br>

After taking in Duke undergraduates' presentations, DPS Superintendent Eric Becoats said he likes what he sees -- and he wants more.<br>

Arabic is not a universal language, least of all in Pennsylvania. But by developing a fully online undergraduate degree in Arabic language and culture, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) will soon make Arabic universally available across its 14 colleges and universities - with other online language programs to follow.<br>
