<DIV>Dr Mostari</DIV>
<DIV>I share your views. Indeed it is difficult to generalise Amazigh-in-education in all the regions of Algeria. As you also rightly say, motivation is the key factor. But I personally believe that what actually lacks is some political motivation for a genuine multilingual and multicultural Algeria. Language decisions in Algeria have always been in the hands of non-academics and non-experts. One idea for instance is to have a language policy centre in Algeria, whose task would be to conduct research in the field and to work as a consulting/advisory body to the parliament and government. Or is it too much to ask? I am personally prepared to give some of my time to set up this project.</DIV>

<DIV>Dear Dr Fouzi, </DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>Being an Algerian linguist , it is very difficult to imagine the spread of Tamazight in non berberophone areas because it will be just a dead language in these areas where none will be really motivated to learn a language that he will not use . Also , because of 'regionalism', the Berber culture is not welcomed everywhere in Algeria . So, let' s keep feet on earth' </DIV>

<DIV>Dear all</DIV>
<DIV>According to the Minister of Education, Berber (Amazigh) language will be generalised throughout the educational system in Algeria. Good news to hear!!! But: to what extent and how is this achievable? </DIV>

<B></B></DIV>
