Call for Papers: Volume 8, 2012 <br> <br>AlterNative is now accepting submissions for its first issue for 2012. <br>AlterNative is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published quarterly <br>that aims to present research and analysis from indigenous worldviews and <br>
perspectives. <br> <br>Submissions should relate to the themes of the journal: <br> <br>-Origins <br>-Place <br>-Peoples <br>-Power <br> <br>-Community <br>-Culture <br>-Traditional and oral history <br>-Heritage <br>-Colonialism <br>
-Intervention <br>-Development <br>-Self-determination <br> <br>AlterNative particularly encourages indigenous scholars to contribute <br>submissions. Specialists and practitioners working on indigenous issues are <br>also welcome. <br>
<br>Submission and Deadline Details: <br>Articles: AlterNative primarily publishes substantive articles that address a <br>particular topic or theme (5,000-7,000 words long). <br> <br>Commentaries: We also publish short, timely commentaries which address a <br>
particular indigenous topic, theme, or contemporary issue affecting <br>indigenous societies (2,000-3,500 words long). Commentaries that address <br>critical issues and reviews of volumes are also accepted. Please contact us <br>
directly if you are thinking of submitting this kind of article. <br> <br>Sample articles and full author guidelines can be downloaded from our <br>website. <br> <br>We receive submissions throughout the year. However, for potential <br>
consideration in the first issues of 2012, articles should reach us no later than <br>1st December 2011. Please be aware that we cannot assign publications <br>dates until acceptance, so early submission is recommended. <br>
