<p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p><p style="margin-top:0in"><b><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"" lang="EN">Aboriginal Languages in Canada</span></b><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"" lang="EN"> is a day long conference which highlights research on Aboriginal languages in Canada, and in particular the integration of Aboriginal students in urban educational settings in Canada. In the morning session, <b><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Casey Eagle Speaker</span></b>, Blackfoot Elder, will deliver an invocation. <b><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Professor Donna Patrick</span></b>, Carleton University, will deliver the plenary address titled <i><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">'Indigenous Languages, Education, and Urbanization: Directions for practice and research'</span></i>.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"" lang="EN">The afternoon session will feature 6 roundtable discussions on topics dealing with educational policy in the Calgary Board of Education, Aboriginal ways of knowing, ways of promoting inclusiveness in educational settings, and initiatives in health and wellness research and policy in Aboriginal communities in Alberta. These discussions will be chaired by academic faculty and students from several faculties of the University of Calgary, and by Calgary Board of Education leaders.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
