<div style="text-align:left"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">This </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">three-day workshop will address: different types of community-based language </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">immersion; getting communities involved in planning; training instructors and </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">mentors; assessing community’s language use and attitudes about language </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">immersion. There will be ample hands-on work and practice. </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">Recommended for all levels of language teachers, </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">language learners, mentors, parents, tribal leaders and administrators.</span></div>

<div style="text-align:left"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">This </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">three-day workshop focuses on curriculum development for Native language </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">immersion programs. The workshop introduces Communication Based Instruction </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">(CBI) to develop curriculum and lesson plans for language immersion programs. </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">CBI is a language approach developed to produce speakers of a language. This is </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">a hands-on workshop where participants will plan, design and develop lesson </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">plans after each instructional period. Participants will have opportunities to </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">practice, critique and refine their materials in simulated teaching sessions. Recommended </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">for all levels of language teachers in school settings and community language </span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms,geneva;font-size:12pt">programs.</span></div>
