<div dir="ltr"><h2>UCC Language Policy</h2>
<p>University College UCC aims to represent an internationally
acknowledged study and research environment and to be one of the leading
international profiles in Denmark regarding knowledge related to the
welfare professions covering learning, - and health-oriented,
pedagogical and aesthetic dimensions. In close collaboration with
stakeholders UCC strives to develop and qualify professional education
and practice and contribute to new knowledge and welfare through
internationally oriented educations and Research and Development.</p>
<p>In order to fulfill this aim UCC has pointed out four crucial focus
areas guiding our efforts for the next three years and thereby enabling
us to reach Campus Carlsberg in 2016 and thus, together with the
northern Campus, being fully prepared as an internationally tuned higher
education organization:</p>
<p><strong>Students with strong international and cultural competences,
Staff with strong international and cultural competences, attractive
international courses and programs and a strong international R&D</strong></p>
<p>As a result of this prioritization has UCC in 2013 drafted and adopted this language policy:</p>
<div class="">
<h2><a id="id3736114" name="id3736114"></a>Foreign Language</h2>
<p>As part of the internationalization strategy and action is planned
upgrading and scaffolding of the employees; foreign language skills in
the coming years. Through targeted linguistic guidance and practical
support for English instruction. The aim is for teachers who teach in
English, achieves a linguistic level of the European Framework of
Reference level descriptions B2 or C1.<br>
</p>
<ul><li>The requirements for language skills by hiring new staff</li><li>By including internationalization and language skills as a point at
MUS. - Teacher Exchange is part of lecturer qualification process -
possibly. with an experienced lecturer.</li><li>By setting up job shadowing by participating in teacher exchange and
international conferences. - Access to research databases and bases of
international literature.</li></ul>
<p>Students can choose English language modules in several of the UCC
education. The modules read in conjunction with exchange students, which
means that students use English as a working language and have the
opportunity to develop an international professional network. By
partnering and nomination emphasizes that offered English language
courses for exchange students with an academically relevant content.</p>
<p>UCC Students are recommended to ensure that their language skills
match the study they are looking
for:<a href="http://blaagaard-kdas.ucc.dk/ordinaerlaerer/studieriudlandet/sprog.html">http://blaagaard-kdas.ucc.dk/ordinaerlaerer/studieriudlandet/sprog.html</a></p>
<p>Students meet the admission requirements for the training, which
usually involves language skills in at least one foreign language. It is
a requirement by the country selection and place of study that the
student can follow the instruction on it or the language of instruction,
the institution offers courses. When nominating the student to ensure
that the host institution offers courses that the students have language
skills to follow. By internship as part of the study to ensure that the
internship can be implemented in a language that the student mastered.</p>
<p>It is also recommended, if possible, to seek an Erasmus Intensive
Language Course (EILC), or to select a language course offered by the
host institution either before or concurrently with the internship. Most
students in LU select a language course alongside the studio not to
extend the study period.EILC: <a href="http://ec.europa.eu/education/erasmus/eilc_en.htm">http://ec.europa.eu/education/erasmus/eilc_en.htm</a></p>
<p>As an exchange student you need to have a good knowledge of the
English language, as you will be enrolled in study programmes conducted
in English. It will be expected that you are able to participate
actively in discussions in classes and group work, read literature as
well as formulate written products in English.<br>
To improve your Danish skills before arriving in Denmark, Erasmus offers
intensive language courses in Danish. You have to apply for the course
in your home country to attend such a course upon arrival to Denmark.</p>
<p>The teaching of the English language modules are differentiated and
ensures that students with different language skills to participate
actively.</p>
<p>In 2013, Denmark became a member of the European Centre for Modern
Languages (ECML). UCC is part of a consortium of universities and
university colleges that have applied to be the national contact point
for the ECML in Denmark.<a href="http://www.ecml.at/">http://www.ecml.at/</a></p>
<p>UCC offers German, French and English as a subject in teacher
education. We are currently the only university college in Denmark! In
all three subjects have established partnerships with teacher education
in target language countries and students in German, English and French
have the opportunity to study one semester in one of the target language
countries. To qualify studying language subjects have laid parallel
programs for students in German and English.</p>
