The Natrona County School District has accepted a grant for a
Mandarin dual-language immersion summer program at Paradise Valley
Elementary School in Casper.

District trustees formally accepted the $67,185.30 grant for the STARTALK 2014 program during Monday’s board meeting.

The grant funds will come from the National Foreign Language Center through the National Security Agency.

Paradise Valley Elementary principal Aaron Wilson will direct the program.

Trustees on Monday also clarified the language of a district policy regarding student fees, fines and charges.

The amended Board Policy 5140
now only states that “no student in the Natrona County School District
will be refused enrollment in any course offered for credit due to lack
of funds for lab or material fees,” and does not give specific
parameters.

The board will next meet at the new Southridge Elementary on May 12
at 7:30 p.m. A building dedication ceremony will occur at 5 p.m.

Read More: District BOT Approves DLI Summer Grant, New Board Policy Language | http://k2radio.com/district-bot-approves-dli-summer-grant-new-board-policy-language/?trackback=tsmclip
