The controversy on replacing teaching German with compulsory Sanskrit
as a third language in CBSE schools has brought into focus the policy in
secondary schools after Union human resources development (HRD)
minister Smriti Irani backed the three-language formula in schools.

TOI did a reality check in Goa on Irani's statement of endorsing the
teaching of a non-Indian language as foreign language and not as a third
language.

While Goa's schools have been long following the
three-language formula, the state's policy remains unclear about the
third language option in schools since the medium of instruction (MoI)
policy was altered last year.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/goa/Goas-third-language-remains-unclear-since-new-MoI-policy/articleshow/45289625.cms
--

**************************************
N.b.: Listing on the lgpolicy-list is merely intended as a service to its members
and implies neither approval, confirmation nor agreement by the owner or sponsor of the list as to the veracity of a message's contents.
