customers are our priority and they’re at the centre of everything we
do. We want all of our Welsh speaking customers to feel comfortable
using Welsh language in their day to day banking with us and we
encourage its use wherever possible. It's why we support a number of
Welsh language initiatives, allowing customers to use Welsh language in
conversations with our Welsh speaking colleagues in branch, on our cash

We have 2 business centres in Wales based in Cardiff and Swansea. Our
local team of Relationship Directors and Credit Partners work with SMEs
across Wales, building long term relationships and providing tailored
solutions that meet their <a title="Opens in a new window" target="_blank" href="https://www.santandercb.co.uk/">commercial banking needs</a>. <br> </li><li><strong>Welsh speaking staff</strong> -
We recruit from the communities which we operate in and we have many
Welsh-speaking colleagues throughout our branches in Wales. We encourage
colleagues who speak Welsh to help customers with their banking queries
using their preferred language as they would do in normal day to day
life. All of our Welsh-speaking branch colleagues are easily identified
by a recognised orange badge with the laith Gwaith / Working Welsh logo

We've started a refurbishment programme throughout our branch network,
and a number of our branches in Wales are included in this. The types of
things you can expect to see in our newly-refurbished branches within
Wales will be dual language Welcome Walls and internal signage. This
refurbishment programme is ongoing and, as branches are refurbished, the
new signage will be added. For some branches, which have been
refurbished in the last two years, we’ll be returning and installing the
newly agreed dual language signage. <br> </li><li><strong>Cash machines -</strong> Most
of our cash machines in Wales give customers the option to use Welsh.
When you use the cash machine, you'll be asked which language you prefer
to use. We're currently installing new touch screen cash machines
throughout our branch network which in the future will also support the
use of Welsh language in those branches in Wales. <br> </li><li><strong>Cheques</strong> -
You're able to deposit cheques written in Welsh into your Santander
accounts via any of our Santander branches, cash machines or by sending
them to us in the post. These will go through our normal clearing cycle
as per the terms and conditions of your account. <br> </li><li><strong>Chequebooks</strong> - Bilingual chequebooks for your Santander accounts (including <a title="Opens in a new window" target="_blank" href="http://www.santander.co.uk/uk/business/current-accounts">business accounts</a>) are available. We understand our customers who live in Wales may have various
documentation that will be written in Welsh. If we receive documentation
from you in Welsh, our staff will translate the document into English.
Below are the types of documents that we can accept in line with our
