SRINAGAR, June 13: Government today said there is no separate
recruitment policy to employ teachers of Urdu, Kashmiri and Dogri as the
selection of teachers is made by SSB as General Line Teachers (GLT) and
not as subject specific teachers.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Devender Singh Rana in Lower
House, Minister Incharge Education stated the selection of teachers is
made by SSB as General Line Teachers (GLT) and not as subject specific
teachers.
The Minister stated ReTs are selected on the basis of prescribed
criteria. Urdu, Kashmiri and Dogri subject is being taught in
institution by teachers who have proficiency in these languages, he
said, adding that further State Institute of Education (SIE) has
organised special training courses of short duration for Hindi and Urdu
knowing teachers.
“School Education Department has made arrangements in Government schools
for imparting teaching in Urdu, Kashmiri and Dogri Subjects upto Matric
