<p class="gmail-no_name">Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said the Government “is strongly committed” to implementing the 20-year strategy on the Irish language.</p>
<p class="gmail-no_name"><a class="gmail-search" href="http://www.irishtimes.com/search/search-7.1213540?tag_person=Mr%20Kenny&article=true">Mr Kenny</a>
made his comments at the launch of the Government’s Polasaí don
Oideachas Gaeltachta 2017-2022 (Policy on Gaeltacht Education 2017-2022)
at Scoil Mhic Dara, An Ceathrú Rua, on Friday afternoon.</p>
<p class="gmail-no_name">It is the first time that a strategy focused on
addressing the educational needs of Gaeltacht areas has been published
since the foundation of the State.</p>
<p class="gmail-no_name">The policy’s primary focus is to strengthen
Irish-medium educational provision and to support the use of Irish as a
living indigenous language in Gaeltacht areas.</p>
