conference in the UKLPAB series, the theme will be
‘language, economy, and development’. As always we
welcome papers discussing any aspect of post-Brexit
language policy in the UK, but we are especially
interested in the effect of Brexit on the interface
between language policy (minority languages and foreign
languages) and the economy.<br>

languages framed as contributing to the economy?</font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">How does
language feature in policy debates over regional
development?</font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">How is
language commodified as a selling point for tourism
and services?</font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">How is
proficiency in different languages flagged as a skill
for employment, both within the UK and abroad?</font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">What is the
economic value of cultural resources focused on
minority languages like archives and museums?</font></li>
</ul>
