<p style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">Chairman of the
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honoured the winners of the fourth
edition of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award at a ceremony
that took place in Dubai.</p>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">The event was attended
by Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, Secretary General of the Arabic Language
International Council Dr. Ali Moussa, and Chairman of the Board of
Trustees of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Arabic Language HE Mohamed
Al-Murr.</div>

<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">Also present at the
ceremony were Minister of Education HE Hussain Ebrahim Al Hammadi,
Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge
and Human Development Authority (KHDA) Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, and
Director General of Dubai Municipality Eng. Dawood Abdulrahman Al
Hajiri.</div>

<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">Winners of this year’s edition of the award included:</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- “My Childhood, My Treasure” won the award for the best early-age Arabic learning initiative.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- “Arabic Language Network” won the award for the best initiative in teaching Arabic in primary school from grade 1 to grade 12.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- The “I Love Arabic” series won the award for the best Arabic learning initiative for non-Arabic speakers.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- “Nabtaker” won the award for the best digital content developer initiative.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- “Iftah Ya Simsim” channel and magazine won the award for serving the Arabic language through media.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- “Arabic Language
Protection Law” by Jordan Academy of Arabic won the award of the best
linguistic policy for promoting the Arabic language.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- The “Arabization And
Unification of Terminology” project of the Arab League Educational,
Cultural and Scientific Organization won the Award in the category of
translation and Arabization.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- The World
Association for Al-Azhar Graduates won the award for the best artistic
and cultural work that serves the Arabic language for its initiative
“Nour wa bawabat El Tarikh series” (Nour and Gate of History series).</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">- Prof. Dr. Jonathan
Owens from the University of Bayreuth in Germany received a special
recognition award for his efforts in serving the Arabic language.</div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify"></div>
<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">The Award jury,
chaired by HE Bilal Al Budour, Secretary General of the Mohammed bin
Rashid Award for Arabic Language, received 962 nominations representing
38 countries, out of which 235 nominations were shortlisted. The largest
number of nominations came from Algeria, Morocco and Egypt.</div>

<div style="direction:ltr;text-align:justify">The Mohammed Bin
Rashid Award for Arabic Language is an initiative launched by His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime
Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote and facilitate the
learning and teaching of Arabic and enhance the status of the Arabic
language.</div>
