<p>ULAN BATOR, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia has launched national literacy
 festival under the theme of "National Script-Independence" across the 
country, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports said 
Tuesday.</p>
<p>The four-day festival is co-organized by the Ministry of Education, 
Culture, Science and Sports, Department of Culture and Arts, National 
Library, National Council on Language Policy and National University.</p>
<p>The annual event will witness a series of seminars, cultural 
exhibitions and meetings to display and promote the literary history of 
the landlocked Asian country.</p>
<p>Also, competitions relating to traditional literature, language and calligraphy will be held nationwide.</p>
<p>Mongolia began holding the festival annually since 2003. </p>
