Many on this list will already know of Aaron Carapella's Tribal Nations Maps, and also the interactive <a href="http://native-land.ca">native-land.ca</a> site, not to mention <a href="http://www.endangeredlanguages.com">www.endangeredlanguages.com</a>.</font></div><div><font face="garamond, serif">In that spirit, my own current project is to create a digital World Atlas of
Endangered Alphabets, with pins
corresponding to the locations of cultures with endangered scripts.</font><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 20pt"><font face="garamond, serif">Click on a pin, and
it will identify the script in a small thumbnail. Click on the thumbnail, and a
page about that script will open up, with links that explain the script and the
culture that developed it, and lead to a gallery, downloadable fonts and keyboards,
teaching videos, printed classroom materials, and individuals and organizations
working to preserve and revive their traditional script.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 20pt"><font face="garamond, serif">We’re currently in the design/research/fundraising phase, but
if all goes well we’ll launch on January 1, 2019—the first day of the

I think the language maps ought to have a higher priority,</div><div>given the fact that there are different viewpoints displayed in some maps</div><div>of the same language group, or the same geographic area. The collection</div><div>we have on our home page is quite honestly a mess. <br></div><div><br></div><div>Another is the role of cartoons about language, especially non-standard</div><div>languages.
