readings query

Hi all. The Honors section of my intro course (Language, Culture, and
Communication) wants to study the media coverage of last Tuesday's events
and the development of a "consensus" about proper "response." And I'm
wondering if anyone can recommend some really introductory stuff in the
media/political rhetoric area of our language/discourse/culture nexus? For
students with no prior exposure or experience, of course. Something about
the discourse/rhetoric of terrorism would be really good to have if it's
out there, too.
