Subject: Question
Dear Ms. Monaghan:
I contacted the secretary in the office of Communications and Culture
and
she has directed me to you.  I am an IU student and this summer I
have an
internship with Farm Bureau Insurance here in Indianapolis.  I am
working
here on the Hispanic Marketing Initiative, trying to integrate the
growing
Latino/Hispanic community into mainstream business in hopes that this
community would then by open to all the services which now seem to
neglect
them, financial, medical and otherwise.  One of my tasks is to learn
about
Hispanic communication, and interethnic (anglo-hispanic)
communications.
Basically to learn what is culturally acceptable in Latin American
cultures
when it comes to communication in a work and sales environment.  I
write
asking for perhaps a list of books that could possible send my down
the
right path, books that would explain typical Latino/Hispanic
communication
in a business atmosphere, and perhaps why the characteristics came
to
be.
Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.  Thank you so
much for
your time and energy, it really means a lot to me.
Sincerely, Emily E. Wilson
