Dear linganth list,

A grad student in our department has to conduct some phone interviews and
has asked about equipment for recording them. Can anyone help her? If so
please write to her directly.

Thanks,

Ellen

Subject: Equipment for phone interview?

Hi Ellen,
Could you please forward this to the ling-anth list?
Thanks, Mieka

Hello veteran recorders,
I am a cultural anthropologist interested in conducting several phone
interviews and am unsure about what type of equipment I might need. I am
not planning to do linguistic analysis of the interviews so will not need
the highest possible quality recordings, but do want them to be nice and
clear for future listenings. Could anyone recommend a relatively cheap way
to go about doing this? Is there an easy attachment I could add on to my
regular recorder? Should I try two separate recorders (one for me and one
for my interviewee)? Do I need to buy a whole new recording system? Any
and all advice is most welcome. Please contact me directly at
mb3wx at virginia.edu . Best,
Mieka Brand
