Mrs. or 'Misses': Daydreaming of an Experiment

Happy New Year Everyone!

Just daydreaming of an experiment - to change the clothing signs in department stores, such as JCPenney from 'Misses' to 'Mrs.,' just to see how people would respond. Has anything like this been done before? Any comments or insights?

While on the topic - out of curiosity - is anyone familiar with alternative ways around the world that clothes are sized?

E.g., Clothing sizes for American men, as well as Europeans use specific measurements, such as inches/centimeters. While variable (& somewhat absurd) measurements are used for American women's clothing. (Any ideas about why the discrepancy b/t American women's & men's clothes exists?)

Interested in your comments - sorry it's not completely related to linganth - I'm also just interested in the culture behind clothing measurements...

  Thanks,

  Jennifer
